"The White Dog", a story . . . |

“Feed the White Dog” |
A Native American man complained to his partner that he was not sleeping well, had little energy and was feeling overwhelmed. He was awakened and disturbed by an ongoing dream where a black and a white dog were fighting; snarling, viciously attacking, biting, growling and running around. This had been going on for many nights and left him run down and tired. His partner was sympathetic and suggested that he might try to understand his dream. After some time his partner noticed that the man appeared relaxed, calm and looked well rested. The man said that the fight was over and there was only one dog left. “Which dog won?” “Why, the white dog, of course,” answered the man. After pausing to consider this statement, his partner asked, “Why did the white dog win?” “Because he was the only one I would feed,” was his reply. |
